Local author’s generous donation to local causes

By | Uncategorised

On Sunday 11th August, at 2.30pm, as part of the Sheringham Lifeboat Day, Gary Powell presented cheques for £505.50 to both Stuart McClean of Sheringham Carnival and Brian Farrow of the RNLI.

Gary raised the funds through a series of talks he gave through the winter on the sinister side of London.  His extensive experience as a police officer in the city giving him a particular insight. The talks at The Masonic Hall were organised by Sheringham Carnival and were very popular.  It was always Gary’s intention to share all proceeds equally between Sheringham Carnival and the RNLI.

Both Sheringham Carnival and the RNLI really appreciate Gary’s generosity and say a massive THANK YOU!

Carnival Ramble

By | Uncategorised

Tuesday 6th August had an air of unpredictability, weather wise which may have put some people off. It didn’t deter our intrepid group of 8, however, who set off from the War Memorial to follow the coastal path towards Weybourne, and back via Sheringham Park. Andrew Cunningham-Brown, Sheringham’s Town Crier, gave a rousing send-off to four of the ramblers, the remainder (who, unfortunately missed the chance of being in the group photo) caught up shortly afterwards. It was a great opportunity to get out and enjoy our wonderful North Norfolk landscape.

A much appreciated £14 was raised for Sheringham Carnival funds.

Sheringham Carnival would like to thank Jasmine for organising and leading this event, everyone who took part, and Andrew for his support.

Great Quizzing night at The Crown

By | Uncategorised

We were all challenged by the general knowledge quiz at The Crown on Monday 5 th August. A well-placed speaker enabled the people sitting outside to join in and ponder the mix of visual and
traditional clues, with the first being asked by our Carnival Queen, Emma.

The winner of the £50 voucher, kindly donated by The Crown, was the ‘Carnival Blues’. There were vouchers for 2nd and 3rd places too, £30 and £20 respectively.

The £246.00 raised will be divided equally between The Playpark Revamp and Sheringham Carnival.

Thanks to Neil for being Quizmaster and to The Crown for hosting.

Bingo Winner

By | Uncategorised

A fabulous afternoon at Mo & Tracy’s Carnival PRIZE Bingo hosted by The Tyneside on Monday 5th August.

Each of the eight traditional games had prizes of £5 for a line, £10 for two lines and £20 for a full house so there were plenty of opportunities to win.

Tension was high when it was announced that the big prize for the Full House Flyer was no longer just the £50 prize donated equally by The Tyneside and the Bayleaf guesthouse; it had risen to a staggering£215.00.  Everyone, of course, was delighted for lucky winner, Nicola Craske.

Additionally, the raffle raised an amazing £120.00 for Sheringham Carnival funds.  Thank you, we are extremely grateful.

Thanks to Mo & Tracey for comparing and The Tyneside for hosting.
