Sheringham Carnival goes back almost 100 years to the very early 1920s, reflecting that Sheringham had by this time become a popular seaside resort following the arrival of train services bringing thousands of people to Sheringham.

Sheringham Carnival organises events throughout the year and is very much part of the local community, being made up of local volunteers who give their time freely for the benefit of others and to raise funds for good causes.

Each year there is carnival week, an annual family-friendly carnival event at the beginning of August. A packed programme of events often includes a puppet show, funfair, face painting, chalking competitions, duck race, live entertainment including the Shantymen, pirate day, a street party as well as the carnival parade.
