FireworksOwing to the recent spell of hot and dry weather, the Carnival Committee has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks during Carnival Week this year.

Given the recent spell of field fires right across Norfolk, it is not considered safe to go ahead.

Paula Prince from the Carnival Committee said: “We are very conscious about what has been going on and how hard the fire brigade has been working tackling field fires. We have decided that it is not safe as we would hate to set light to anything – it is disappointing but we are still having a big street party in the High Street.”

The street party will take place from 4.00pm – just bring your own table and picnic. There will be prizes for the best table and best cake.
